Lithuanians Have a simple kitchen but full of taste. The dishes are not spicy, mainly based on fish, soups, pork, potatoes, cabbages, beets, and peas.
Previously the dishes were prepared with products only in season, but for 25 years, fresh fruit, vegetables aromatics are available year-round, the same applies to meat.

Lithuania is separated into five regions. Each region having its own culinary habits.
The Mountaineers or "Aukätaiciai" live in the northeast region of the country. This rich area is known for its different pancakes and cheese-based dishes.
The Samogitians "Zemaiciai", from the northwest region, is known for its porridge, porridge and sour butter.
In the southeast, where the forests are and where the soil is sandy, the Dzukai cultivate buckwheat in all its forms, mushrooms and potatoes.
The Suvalkieciai, the inhabitants of the southwest, prefer the smoked meats, the sausages.
This famous sausage is called Skilandis
LA famous Lithuanian speciality is called "" Ceppelinai "" This one is made from raw grated potatoes and stuffed with meat. It takes its name from its form reminiscent of a Zeppelin.
For the inhabitants of the coast of lakes and rivers, fish plays an important role in their diet.
The main meal usually has soup. Tea, milk and coffee are the most common beverages.
We usually take three meals a day, Breakfast between 7 and 9 am, The main meal between 13 and 3 p.m., A lighter meal between 18 and 8 p.m.
At midday, most Lithuanians return home or have lunch in the cafeteria at their workplace.
The dishes are accompanied by a black bread made from rye. The latter is in the form of very dense rectangular loaves with rounded corners. It is sometimes scented with cumin seeds.

The best known dessert is the Sakotis or called Raguolis: it is a cake baked on a spit based on eggs, sugar and lemon.
