Discovery of Vilnius

Last week, my friend came to Lithuania, to Vilnius. We stayed 4 days in the city and made many discoveries. I will now introduce you to this city.

First, we went to visit the amber museum in Mykolo. Amber is the flagship product of Lithuania and more specifically the Baltic countries. So this stone is also called Baltic gold. Amber is therefore an emblem of Lithuania

On the cathedral square is a miracle slab that fulfills the wishes of Lithuanians and tourists. The word miracle (in Lithuanian "Stebuklas") is written in letters of colors. If you want a miracle, stand on the slab, think of a wish and turn 360 degrees. It is on this plaque that ends the Baltic Way, a human chain of nearly 600 km connecting Vilnius to Riga and Tallinn. This human chain was made to demonstrate in favor of the independence of the Baltic countries faced of USSR.

On the square, next to the miracle slab, there is a very large bell tower (57 m high) that can be visited. I climbed to the top and was able to admire a breathtaking view of the city and listen to the bells ringing beside me. I really recommend visiting it and climbing to the top for the view.

Now I am going to present you some nice restaurants to do if you go to Vilnius.

Firstly a French restaurant where you can serve croissants in the morning and lunchtime of the foie gras as well as typical French menus: Le café Montmartre

Then, a place a little special where many young people go. The principle is simple you have to download an application and settle at a table. We have a large number of restaurant choices (sushi, burger, pizza, Thai, pasta, fish ...), we order and the food is brought to our table : The Keule Ruke.

I advise you, if you like animals and especially cats, to test this coffee. There is a lot of cat available for adoption, the place is very clean and the food is good. It is very relaxing to eat with a pet that plays, sleeps and demand hugs: The Cat Cafe

There is a covered market in the old town, very pretty.

In this city there are many works of art arranged everywhere, here are some examples, the statue of the egg, the hill of the three crosses, the green bridge, the tower of Gediminas ...

You can also visit the many churches of this city, they are all different and very imposing. In Lithuania there is a lot of church in the cities because it is a very religious country.
